Brought up in Sardinia, now living in Southsea and working as a banker in London, Stefano De Luca has created a recollection of life and food, in
a newly published book, My Sardinian home cooking.
“In many ways the book is a tribute to my mother, Bonaria Melis as I enjoyed so many blissful hours with her, learning to cook, enjoying the aromas and flavours of the Sardinian-Mediterranean kitchen. And many of the dishes in the book are taken directly from my mother’s recipes, they are simple, healthy, and inexpensive to make,” said Stefano. Alongside the recipes, Stefano describes the island of Sardinia and what visitors might expect to find, essential cooking ingredients, and the secrets of making the best bruschetta, sour dough bread, sea food, and pasta. “I hope the book will inspire readers to not only cook and enjoy the recipes but to feel the warmth and atmosphere of Sardinia, a small but colourful paradise full of joy and delicious food and drink”.
