The Joy of Creativity

The Omega Art School

Starting with one small class in 2020, just before Covid struck, the Omega Art School for adults, now has ten classes to choose from, either daytime, or in the evening and at different levels, with a new term starting the week of 8th January.

The classes are taught by a range of professional artist/tutors who each teach their speciality, from drawing, watercolour, and acrylics to oils.

‘People are often concerned that they haven’t taken any art lessons since being at school, but that really doesn’t matter, as our Preliminary courses are designed for absolute beginners – with a thorough grounding in drawing and different media. The students can then choose to continue onto the next level – if they’d like to. Other people, who have had more experience prefer to start at other levels, there are various syllabuses on our website, which can help people decide upon the right course for them, or they are welcome to get in touch for advice’, explained Kevin Dean who founded the school.

‘I’m very proud of how far we’ve come and it’s very exciting when our more experienced students start exhibiting and selling their work, but what really matters, is that so many people have found joy in being creative – even if they’ve not picked up a paintbrush since their school days’.
