The Portsmouth Society tours the city to award good design in architecture and landscape. This years winners received awards at the Royal Maritime Club on 24th Oct.
Best new building award: The new Bus station at The Hard. designed by AHR Group and built by Osborne
Also in the same category, Canoe Lake’s Tennis Pavilion by PAD Studio architects, the construction managed by Rice Project, funded by a philanthropist and Southsea resident.
Commended in Best New building, The University Technical College Portsmouth, architects Stride Treglow.
Best re-use of a building, Europa House the tall office block on the Hard, now student accommodation, architects, Boyle & Summers
Best Restoration commendation award, The South Parade Pier, undertaken by the Wares – father and son.
Also, Best Restoration commendation award, the Cell Block, starter offices at the Victory Gate, Historic Dockyard, architects Walters & Cohen.
