Everybody Pilates

Why pilates? Pilates is all about creating strength, stretch and control. It strengthens abdominal and back muscles, whilst providing a strong centre to work from. The equipment provides fantastic support for the body, and the mat adds that extra challenge.

What’s special about Everybody Pilates?  Lots of things are special about EP, mainly our members. We love teaching all ages and abilities. With members ranging from ultra athletes to older clients who come in twice a week to stay strong and mobile, we feel well prepared for anyone who walks through the door. You will always receive a friendly welcome from our amazing reception staff, and our teachers will take care of giving you the workout you need for your ability. Plus Amy, who owns the studio, is 1 of 18 people worldwide to have received a training certificate from Pilates elder Jay Grimes. 

Level of fitness required?  Everybody is welcome – classes suitable for beginner/ intermediate and advanced, so you will always be in the right level for you.

GI’S Zumba

Why do Zumba?  It’s a dance exercise that’s all about having fun, exercising every muscle, and improving co-ordination.

What’s so special about Gi’s Zumba classes?  I thought I’d ask my class to answer this question, here are a couple of their comments: “Gi’s classes are always fantastic and never the same each week, so you don’t get bored”. “The atmosphere is always friendly and relaxed, everyone is welcoming, and I don’t feel embarrassed if I make mistakes”.

Level of fitness required?  All levels of fitness welcome.

Costs?  Classes range from £5 per class or £20 for 5 classes per month

The creators of LANO have built a unique space with two studios, one hot, one not, that offers multiple styles of yoga for the Southsea community in a safe and welcoming environment. Portsmouth Outdoor Fitness

Why exercise outdoors?  Any form of exercise will have a positive impact on your health, but outdoor exercise is also shown to have a real benefit to mental health too, building resilience and self confidence. 

What’s special about Portsmouth Outdoor Fitness? Our trainers are committed to delivering sessions which are enjoyable and improve your fitness. With over 10 sessions per week, we ensure every session is different. Being outside also enables our trainers to offer variety to the workouts, as we aim to go to multiple locations on Southsea seafront. During every session, we run, from hill sprints overlooking the Band Stand, to a weights session on Southsea Beach. The team spirit amongst everyone is so high, and the positivity and encouragement everyone offers is unrivalled.

Level of fitness required?  All levels welcome every class is tailored to a beginner, intermediate, or advanced fitness levels.
